olaf blecker's hyperreal portrait photography has opened up a new way of viewing people. a significant part of this vision is demonstrated by his portraits of prominent personalities, published in recent years in both german and international magazines, including süddeutsche magazin, the new york times magazine, frankfurter allgemeine zeitung, fast company and time magazine. whether depicting foreign ministers or boxing champions, blecker's portraits repeatedly cut across the traditional conceptions of celebrity photography. he applies the same aesthetic principle in his advertising work; to wit, his long client list of agencies across the globe, a list that continues to grow. based in berlin, olaf has worked as a freelance photographer since 1995. his work spans the gamut, from campaigns and editorials to myriad personal projects.
